The barrier through which interchange tunneling dynamics might occur should be quite high,
since the PES saddle point along this valey is likely to feature two facing hydrogen atoms, even if
Cs symmetry is broken.
A similar saddle point geometry has been studied for the (HF)2 dimer
[Hougen 85] , and no spliting could be assigned experimentally
to such a dynamics.
Interchange tunneling dynamics seems therefore unlikely along this PES valley.
